Helping Us

Running a preserved bus in an expensive business - which is why the ownership is split between a group of us.  The standing charges alone come to over £2,500 - and that is before we've even started the engine.  Fuel consumption is very high - in the region of 6 to 8 mpg and we all know what has happened to diesel prices in the past few years.

If you're interested in any way in helping us to continue the preservation of this special vehicle, we'd love to hear from you.  Or why not join the Friends of CPPTD to support the continuing preservation of the local transport heritage?  As well as supporting the vehicles, we organise many trips each year that have transport as a theme and our membership ranges from former bus crews to those who just like to see classic vehicles being used in active preservation.  And most of us don't even own an anorak!

From time-to-time, shares in 236 do come up for sale and offer a cost-effective route to owning an historic vehicle.  For more information, you can either write to our secretary, Mr Nigel Appleford at ?? Claydon Ave, Southsea or email us by clicking
