As the business is now closed, we're no longer able to take bookings for weddings, but if you scroll to the bottom of the page, you'll find some contacts for some other coach operators who may be able to help you. I can't take bookings, or handle enquiries and just provide the links for you as we've had so many disappointed prospective hirers who have been unable to book with us.
Well, we certainly went to a lot of weddings in three years. From just before Easter until about October, we would do two or three weddings a week, so we probably saw around 300 couples getting married. And it's quite amusing being there as an "outsider". Probably the funniest little story happened outside St Mary's Church in Portsmouth one Saturday: A little girl of about 6 was walking past the Church with her Mummy while I was waiting for my crowd to get back on the coach after the wedding. "Oh, look, Mummy", said the little girl, "there's a wedding and they've got a coach. But they can't have much money as they can't afford a new coach". The top picture shows 'our' 1950 Bedford OB, seemingly at a wedding. It's a set-up picture and was taken at Goodwood race course in March one year at a wedding exhibition. The lower picture shows 'our' 1957 Bedford SB at Chilworth Manor Hotel one Saturday in 2004. We probably did more weddings with the SB than either of the other coaches. It always seemed to be the "happiest" coach - with the big grinning grille on the front.
If you're looking to hire a vintage coach for a wedding, here's some alternatives that you could try.
